This month... Spring Shines On

DeaYokFolk,

Marlo Nikkila offers her experience of a rarely discussed phenomenon among Yoga professionals, competition. This month's post in Ripples, theYoke blog, is a topic that came up often when speaking to Yoga folk in the initial conversations that led to the forming of theYoke. Competition on the mat by a student of asana to the competitiveness felt by professionals in the field is rarely spoken about. Its' taboo-ness appears to be relevant and present amongst Yoga studio owners and teachers. My hope is by bringing it out in the light we may begin a conversation centering around how we can assist each other, instead of carrying silent secrets about each other.
We hope where ever you are the sun is shining a bit more and the little green sprigs of spring are starting to pop out.
