Spring Has Sprung!

What have you been up to all winter?  Time to take stock of the body and mind.  Too much carbo loading during gray days?  It's easy to do with shorter days the last few months.  Look forward to lighter, fresher, and seasonal foods. With the sun in the sky longer, we can absorb that energy to supplement ourselves and replenish our spirits. Learn more ways to re-energize yourself with the tips below!
Snacks at Work
Corporate Wellness Tip:
Does snack attack hit at 11am and 3pm? Do you find yourself finding a reason to pass by the admin's candy jar several times a day? To snack or not to snack, that's often a new dietary fad. Wise choices, moderation and preparation can all lead to balanced snacking. Click the box for tips on stocking your desk drawer and vending machine with the snacks that help, not harm your body - giving you energy, focus and satisfaction!
Rejuvenate the Mind
You Wellness Scout regularly likes to present some ideas and suggestions for you to explore mind health. This month we direct you to tapping therapy, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or MMT (Meridian Tapping Techniques).  Like acupuncture, it's a method to stimulate the energy meridians for physical pain and emotional habits. You apply this method to yourself, so it costs nothing but your own intention and commitment. Check out EFT Alive and the box above for more info.
Skin Health
This is such a critical time of year to protect your skin.  With some unusually warm days, it is tempting to expose the skin earlier than normal and stop wearing the coat, hat, and scarf. However, days have increasingly more intense sunlight until June, which is the time when we suddenly expose our skin from being covered all winter.  Even when there is a little snow and the temps are cool, don't forget the sunblock especially on the shoulders, neck and arms.  Sunburn alert! Beware of sunbathing in Spring sun for long periods. Click on the box above for info on UV ray exposure.
