Report on the AGM

  • 10 members attended, less than quorum of 22. Under our bylaws we needed to wait an hour before those attending could accept that as quorum so we moved and seconded motions to accept the agenda, to waive the audit and the nominations for directors until 8 pm when we could approve those motions. Lots of good discussion about our model changes and how we might go forward.

  • Because the Cooperative Associations Act requires at least 5 board members, we could not change that in our bylaws. But we do have 5 directors! Joan Norberg has agreed to be our treasurer, Suat Tuzlak has joined the board, and Simone Rudge, Christina Sobol and Alison Reid are all staying on. Thanks to Peter Woodruff for being our treasurer for 2 years, and Bernie Hoeschle for being a director for more than that!

  • We also extended the period for the AGMs to March 31 of the following year.

  • And Heidi Marion brought us up to date on the doings of Food Network Yukon, including some projects needed to gather information about Yukon's food security, and projects that are going on with City of Whitehorse and others in this area.

Announcement!

People can now purchase an annual membership fees of $25.00 per calendar year. Memberships purchased after Sept. 30th will extend to Dec. 31st of the following year. After 10 years of paying annual fees, members will be considered lifetime members.

Placing an order with the Potluck Food Co-op this weekend?

Well, we have a request.

Could you please order a little extra for people in need? The Whitehorse Food Bank is an amazing organization who is generously letting us use their space for distribution and we want to give back!

So, when you place your order think ahead and order some staples others could use and leave them at the Food Bank for people who need the food (and get a tax receipt) on April 1st.

Thanks!
