Wheelchair Accessible Travel Newsletter

"Two roads diverged in a wood and I — I took the one less traveled by."
   -Robert Frost
As wheelchair travelers, our vacations take us down a road of accessibility that is much less traveled by. With every trip we take, every sidewalk we roll, we are forging a new path for ourselves and the adventurous wheelchair users who will follow.

Information is what gives us the courage to take chances on new experiences. To aid in your discovery of the world, I've been busy adding new content to the blog over the past few weeks.

But first, I want to draw your attention to a big news story in the world of air travel. On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security issued a ban on certain electronic devices in carry-on baggage, affecting a significant number of flights to the United States. The British Government has followed suit, and the European Union may be next. To learn more about the new requirements and how they may affect you, CLICK HERE.

I was asked by a reader, "When do you visit these places in comparison to when you post?"

That's a very good question. In some cases, I'll have new content up within a week of a trip, but I prioritize my writing in a number of ways. The greatest attention is paid to destination accessibility guides, followed by reviews of museums and attractions. Hotel reviews have typically been my lowest priority, but I made some headway towards catching up on those this month. My goal is always to serve your interests, so let me know if there is something you'd prefer to read more (or less) about!

A quick reminder from a few weeks ago — You'll have a chance to meet me at the Abilities Expo in Chicago, June 23-35, and in Washington, D.C., December 1-3, 2017. Don't miss my presentations on accessible travel, and the opportunity to ask questions in person. Attendance is free, so mark your calendars!

And, lastly, here are a few ICYMIs from the last newsletter:
  • Greyhound is making travel more accessible for wheelchair users.
  • The view from the Rock of Gibraltar was one of my favorite experiences, ever.
  • Live out your Harry Potter fantasy at the WB Studio Tour in London.
Thank you, as always, for your support of WheelchairTravel.org. I've shared the best new articles from the blog via the links below. Read and share with your friends on social media!

All the best,
— John Morris
