The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) urges Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program (CDBG-DR) Grantees to take advantage of the General Services Administration (GSA) Purchasing Schedules. The GSA has an extensive inventory of services and materials required in disaster recovery efforts. GSA’s Disaster Purchasing Program allows state and local governments to buy supplies and services directly from all GSA Schedules to facilitate recovery from major disaster or facilitate disaster preparation and response. GSA’s strong partnerships can help cities and towns meet their needs quickly while saving taxpayer dollars. Acquiring these products from the GSA schedules allows a grantee to accelerate the acquisition process, and can dramatically expedite a community’s recovery. Grantees may procure directly from the GSA Schedules and maintain compliance with HUD procurement standards. Grantees still must verify compliance with their own procurement standards.
