Messages from the Office

NEW! - Affiliated Membership

NZOIA is excited to announce its NEW Affiliated Membership which is a low-cost and flexible membership option for outdoor operators looking to qualify multiple staff for NZOIA Leader Level qualifications.  It is suited to those with staff or volunteers who are working without direct supervision within a defined operational area and under an activity and site specific risk management plan. The tiered pricing structure makes it easy for operators to ensure they have the qualified workforce they require, without having to pay for or register staff for Individual Membership. More information regarding pricing and process will be available on our website early next week.

NZOIA Information Evening - Ohakune

NZOIA is hosting an Information Evening on Monday 10 April 5:30 - 7:30pm at Canoe Safaris in Ohakune. It's a chance to gain a better understanding of what NZOIA can offer, different qualifications and membership options and meet with other operators to discuss challenges and solutions to staff training and qualifications. We welcome new and existing members to come along. Please RSVP to Pip by Wednesday 5 April: admin@nzoia.org.nz

Let's Celebrate

Sport New Zealand Investment!

We are excited to be able to announce NZOIA was successful in securing our current level of investment from Sport New Zealand - $100,000 annually for the next three years. This is a huge relief for us, as funding is becoming harder and harder to secure. We thank Sport NZ for their continued support, which significantly reduces membership, registration and course fees. However, with cuts over the last couple of years from other funders, it leaves a very tight operating budget, so it is important we don't get complacent and continue to look at ways of becoming less reliant on funding.

Was fantastic to hear the funding news from Sport NZ, a lot of hours went into the application and it was a nervous three month wait to find out. Last day of March - eek! Don't forget to put your clocks back on Saturday night for daylight savings - a sleep in yay!
