Laetare: "Rejoice!"
We celebrated Laetare Sunday this past weekend, which gets its name from Isaiah 66:10, calling the people of God to rejoice, for the Lord is near. We marked the occasion with the rose-colored vestments, a sign that Lent is coming to a close (only two more weeks!) and Christ's Resurrection is coming soon. So rejoice!

Sunday's Readings
In the book of the prophet Ezekiel, God promises to "open your graves and have you rise from them." St. Paul says to the Romans that the Spirit "will give life to your mortal bodies." Finally, in John's Gospel, Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead (pictured at above left), "that they may believe."
