Arizona Gives Day is this Tuesday, April 4th. So, we know you will get many emails like this one over the next few days. Tucson is fortunate to be a city that thrives in organizations that enhance the lives of all who call The Old Pueblo home. And each organization is worthy of your support in many ways.
So the question is: why should you put Community Gardens of Tucson at the top of your list this year?
First and foremost, every dollar you give to CGT is put to thoughtful use . . . every decision we make has one goal in mind: to support our Community Gardens so that they are available to every person who wants to grow healthy food in a friendly and educational environment.
Here are some examples of how far your dollars go:
Just $10 will help us make some small decision a bit more easily. Perhaps we want to share some seeds, buy some stamps, distribute some educational material. These important decisions are easier with your support.
$50 can help us keep our irrigation systems at 23 gardens city-wide in top-notch shape. We are committed to growing vegetables sustainably and keeping our water use to a minimum.
$100 can help support one of our many scholarship gardeners. We do not turn families away who want to grow healthy food but cannot afford our monthly plot fees.
$300 can help us build a raised bed for a gardener who needs a more accessible plot so that they can keep gardening when their back or knees are showing wear and tear.
And $500 can go a long way towards helping us install rain harvesting systems in some of our gardens that offer such a possibility.
We hope we have inspired you to support us. Please, donate to CGT today.
