First Annual
Dare to Dream
Chess Championship
Saturday April 8, 2017 • 9:00am - 3:30pm
Branksome Hall, Toronto
The Dare to Dream chess tournament celebrates creative thinking on the chess board as it showcases thoughtful global action. Chess Institute of Canada sees chess not as an end in itself, but as a vehicle to challenge initial impressions, to find ways and opportunities when it looks like there aren't any, and to follow through with creative, concrete actions.

Every year we feature a guest of honour who challenged conventions, dreamed big, and continues to inspire millions. This year we are humbled to be joined by Phiona Mutesi, the Queen of Katwe, who rose from poverty in Kampala, Uganda, to national and international fame. Phiona and her coach, Robert Katende, will be happy to meet you in person, take pictures, and answer your questions.

Dare to Dream
