DAVID PARKER AND HANNAH CHRISTIANSON
Congratulations to David Parker and Hannah Christianson who have accepted the call to be co-youth pastors at Bakersfield First Church of the Nazarene in Bakersfield, California. Following graduation from Trevecca and then their wedding here at NFCN this summer, they will assume their new ministry roles. We will miss them here but look forward to watching how God will use them to grow and develop His kingdom!
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
NFCN loves to be involved in the East Nashville community. We have forged 4 strong and consistent connections with East Nashville public schools. One of those schools is
Caldwell Elementary. Our VBS offering from the summer of 2016 was raised for us to participate in a local need with our community connections. Part of the funds were used to complete a fundraiser for specialty seating in a classroom at Caldwell Elementary. They purchased
Wobble Chairs and conducted a study on the benefits they have on learning. Their project was recently on exhibit at
Trevecca Nazarene University. Here are a few pictures.

RENEWAL WAS RENEWING!
What a blessing to be together in 5 services over 3 days this past weekend, with the anointed ministry of Jon Nicholas and David Hutsko, our special workers. Thank you for every effort made to make this last weekend what it was - and mostly praise to God for His presence among us. Here are some key quotes from the weekend that we need to remember, all from Pastor David Hutsko...
The key to everything is intimacy with God - it all starts there...knowing the heart of the King.
The two key questions: Who am I and what is my purpose?
My fear is that people often find temporary relief on Sunday morning but never find freedom...
The messy parts of our story are defining moments for us but they don't have to define us...
You can't establish or advance the Kingdom of God until you know the heart of the King.
The potential for resurrected lives is immense...the potential for resurrected communities is immense...
We need WORKERS, not COMMITTEES.
God did not send His son to be against something...God sent His son to be FOR something.
On my worst days all I see is the mess...on my best days all I see is life.
God has called us to have clean hearts and dirty hands.
I think there will be people in heaven saying 'look how clean my heart is'...But the question will be - were your hands dirty?
AMEN!
