TIPC update: Shortlist of TIP cases revealed  

Following the inaugural workshop of TIPC members in Sweden, the shortlist of projects selected for the next phase of examination has been revealed. This second stage of the pilot programme involves a retrospective analysis of innovation policy projects from each member country. Using ‘Transformative Innovation Learning History’ as a method the TIPC teams are examining ‘Frame 3’ elements in each case to expand knowledge on the optimal approach to TIP strategy, design and implementation. Read the full story on the TIPC website.

History of technology research accolade

'The UK may leave the EU but it can never 'leave' Europe. We should not conflate the EU with Europe.'
 
Delivered during Schot's honorary degree acceptance speech, this crucial and timely message shows how European integration extends further than EU membership. Schot urged that we now nurture and empower the multiple, overlapping 'Europes' that exist.  Schot accepted the accolade from the NOVA University of Lisbon for research in the History of Technology which led to the 'Making Europe' book series and 'Tensions of Europe' network. In an impassioned speech, Schot dedicated the award to his European colleagues and his partner, Jeannette Doff. Read the full news story and speech

New inclusive innovation research 

A new SPRU working paper from Schot and Onsongo looks at mobile money in Kenya and demonstrates how transformative innovation policy can address inequality in society.
