Connecting Employers to a Diverse Workforce |Empowering Newcomers through Employment
The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) Employment Services offers a variety of classes and employment counselling for newcomers to Canada ages 16 and over, who experience cultural and/or language barriers to employment.
National Hiring Day is a one-day hiring blitz where prospective job seekers can walk into a McDonald’s, apply on the spot, and connect with members of the management team regarding current employment opportunities!
Please contact your Employment Counsellor to enrol in any of these classes. If you do not have an Employment Counsellor and would like more information about our workshops and how to enrol please contact us!
SOPA Feature: Hanadi Abdulaziz
I have already finished the "Job Search Strategies" course and now I am taking the "Soft Skills: Working With Others".
I find these courses beneficial for many reasons. They taught me the different strategies to search for a job which I find different from where I live. I also learned new skills like how to "market" myself in a professional way and how to negotiate. I have also learned many things about the common workplace etiquette in Canada which is, in some aspects, very different from common workplace etiquette followed here in Kuwait.
I would definitely recommend this program to others!
Coming in May:
Stayed tuned for more information about Job Fair preparation workshops, and volunteering opportunities!
