Announcements:
New members
We are glad to announce that IAPS community has grown by two more local associations and therefore expanded to two more countries! Let's warmly welcome the local committees in Zurich, Switzerland and Stockholm, Sweden.
In addition, we are happy to welcome the numerous individual members from all around the world who recently joined IAPS.

PLANCKS 2018
Next year's PLANCKS will be hosted by NC Croatia. After the great ICPS back in 2015, we will be visiting the beautiful city of Zagreb again. We are already looking forward to another awesome event.

Design Competition
The Great IAPS Design Competition finally has some winners! Congratulations to Federica Lorenzi and Sándor Kunsági-Máté for the split first prize in competition A (Hoodie/T-shirt) and Tobias Messer for the first prize in competition B (Coat of Arms). Some more prizes were awarded to Nurlan Avazli and again Federica Lorenzi (split second prize, competition B), again Tobias Messer (second prize, competition A) and Mattia Ivaldi (third prize, competition A).
Again, thanks to all who participated in the competition. There were way more great designs than prizes.
Opportunities:
ICPS 2017 in Torino, Italy
Remember that registration for this year's ICPS is only open until April 20th at noon (CEST). It will take place on August 7th to 14th in the beautiful city of Torino and will be organised by NC Italy. Don't miss the opportunity to be a part of the largest event in IAPS calendar and share it with your friends and at your universities - it would be a pity if someone misses it due to not having noticed it!
You can find the registration form on the ICPS homepage.

jIAPS Article Contest
You want to join ICPS but need funding or you just love writing scientific articles? That's your chance! All you need to do is hand in a physics related article with 500 to 1000 words to jiaps@iaps.info until April 8th. The winner awaits the ICPS2017 participation fee (190€) and a reserved place. So, no time to spare!
Further information can be found in the official call.

Delegate Day Reminder
If your committee has not sent us the names and emails of their delegates, please do so as soon as possible. If you are a delegate, please inform us of the time of your arrival - especially the date - no later than April 20th at noon (CEST).
Delegate Day will start at 4pm on August 6th at the campus in Torino and will end on August 7th before the official opening of the ICPS so you will not be missing anything. All delegates are expected to be present. Delegate Day is a chance to discuss topics of relevance to the international physics students community. The schedule is being made and will likely include topics such as organising the competition PLANCKS, preparations for the Annual General Meeting, getting financial support, etc. However, we like suggestions from you. If you have any, don't hesitate to write a mail to president@iaps.info.

IAPS Wiki prelaunch
As you already might heard of, IAPS wiki is prelaunched. The main goal is to get overviews of the variety of events and projects IAPS community is working on. You want to help by writing a text for a special event or you have your own project you want to share? Don't hesitate to write a mail to the EC.
Thanks in advance to all of you who are helping in getting a great wiki with all important information about IAPS.

Balaton Summer School
NC Hungary will organise the Balaton Summer School this year again. A wide spectrum of topics will be covered on the physics of gravitational waves in four sections: general relativity, astrophysics, laser physics and on physics of gravitational wave detectors. The lectures will be held by acknowledged researchers of LIGO and VIRGO collaboration.
It is a great opportunity to spend a week with other physics students by Lake Balaton, the largest lake of central Europe. They plan to host 40 Hungarian and 40 students from all over the world. Therefore, you will have the chance to meet and share your knowledge with a lot of new and awesome people who share your enthusiasm in physics.

Deadline is April 9th.

Further information can be found on event's website.
Upcoming activities:
PLANCKS 2017
This year PLANCKS will be held on May 26th to 28th in Graz, Austria. There are several preliminaries all over the world to select the representatives of multiple countries. Do you know if there is a preliminary round in your country? If not, you can find them on the event's website.
IAPS wishes you an awesome April!
