We have launched a brand new website

Participation Cymru’s brand new website is now live and we want to know what topics you care about the most!

Participation Cymru has a brand new website, enabling us to more effectively meet the needs of our audience, produce engaging content for you and gain full creative control over our online space.

This new website is fully responsive, bilingual and mobile-device friendly. This is significantly important when you consider how mobile internet traffic now accounts for more than half of all internet traffic. We have some exciting plans for the future of this website, but it doesn’t matter what we want – we care about what you want!

We're constantly improving the way we're doing things and we'd love to know what you care about the most.

Please take a couple of minutes to complete this survey about your online habits and what issues you care about the most when it comes to public engagement and participation.

Free Participation Network Events - May 2017

These regional participation networks are suitable for anyone working in the field of participation and citizen engagement.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic experiences that occur before the age of 18 and are remembered throughout adulthood. Evidence shows people who experience stressful and poor quality childhoods are more likely to develop health-harming and anti-social behaviours, more likely to perform poorly in school, more likely to be involved in crime and ultimately less likely to be a productive member of society.

Better and more meaningful engagement is needed in order to intervene early and prevent adverse childhood experiences from becoming a reality for more and more people. At these practitioner network events we will explore different methods of meaningful engagement with communities.

Where, when and how to book

Attendees come from a range of different organisations in the public and third sector that focus on a variety of issues. The events are suitable for anyone from any level within an organisation that has an interest in practical participatory work, including consultation officers, trustees, volunteers, development workers and managers.

These practitioner networks are lively, participatory workshops which provide an opportunity for peers to engage, share and support each other.

Conversation on the Future Generations priorities

"We need to understand more about our communities, the experiences of people and the way they live their lives if we are to safeguard the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

As Wales’ first Future Generations Commissioner, I want to listen to what you have to say and understand what you think are the most important issues facing Wales in the future.

Over the next few months we will be talking to people and asking you to complete a short survey to help us focus on priority areas for action and decide how we can support public services across Wales to improve the well-being of future generations.

We are a small nation facing some major challenges, so ‘business as usual’ is not an option for the way we work in Wales. My role is to be a guardian for the future generations of Wales, promoting sustainable development (our environmental, economic, social and culture well-being) and encouraging public bodies to think about the long-term impact of their work.

I have had conversations with many people already about the challenges we need to work together to solve. I have put this together in a report."
