Our journey is leading us to resurrection.

The Lord has given our community the seasonal vision of "Loving Community for Bold Exploration". The invitation in the first part of this year has been to allow the Gospel of John to center us on the story of Jesus in such a way as to reveal to us what it means to live in Belovedness. We have seen, time and again, what it looks like for God to pursue us as His Beloved, and what our response of pursuit of Him really looks like.

This first chapter in our bold exploration is reaching its climax on Easter Sunday, April 16th. Holy Week is a sweet time in the church calendar for us to join our Christian brothers and sisters around the world in preparation for celebrating resurrection and new life in christ by carefully walking the story of Jesus to the cross. We will have several events during the week to orient us to Jesus, as wiell as challenges to us as individuals to open our hearts to receive him anew.

PALM SUNDAY
Sunday 9th @ 10:30am + 6:00pm

Our regularly scheduled gatherings will focus our anticipation on the climactic story of Jesus as we witness his entry into Jerusalem. We will come to the Lord’s Table as a family to remember what this week means for us all.

SEDER DINNER
Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th @ 7pm

We are partnering with our friends at The Cross to celebrate the traditional seder dinner, a ceremony that r.ecalls the Jewish exodus from Egypt while foreshadowing the work of Jesus as he celebrated this meal in the week his major deliverance came to a climax.

GOOD FRIDAY
Friday 14th @ 6pm

We will walk the Stations of the Cross with a rooftop liturgical service on Friday evening, followed by an invitation to attend a screening of the Jesus Film at Lake Eola at 7:30pm.

HOLY SATURDAY
Saturday 15th, all day

We are committing to a day of prayer and fasting for our community on the day Jesus rested in death before his resurrection. From noon until 10pm the church building will be open for everyone to come and find quiet with the Lord.

EASTER SUNDAY
Sunday April 16th @ 10:30am + 6pm

Join us at our regularly scheduled gatherings to celebrate the beauty of resurrection and new creation! We are assembling a choir for the occasion; if you are interested please email cole@citybeautiful.ch.

FINANCIAL UPDATE

We have increased our budget in 2017 in order to continue to invest in our ministries and the church overall. You have responded so well to this new call to invest $5600 a week, it was we're not there yet. Please consider becoming a regular contributor by setting up recurring giving at our website here.

Join us Saturday, April 8th, at Central Care Mission for a field day! We will spend the morning playing relay games and food eating competitions so bring your a-game!
