Greetings Friends!
As always, I hope this letter finds you happy, healthy, and feeling loved.
Remember back in January...as the new year turned over, we talked about all of the positive changes that we could manifest into our beautiful realities? I don't know about you, but my eyes sparkled thinking about the possibilities knowing my Soul's wishes are always right within my grasp. All I needed was faith, intention, and to take steps presented to me by Spirit. And that's exactly what I'm doing and life, in general, is not only good...it's great!
However, that doesn't mean that change is always easy....
As the season (and life in general) continues to shift and twist, I am reminded of the inevitable (and sometimes uncomfortable) changes that must take place in order for the good stuff to come into our lives. And sometimes I don't exactly understand why things are happening when they're happening. Or how it all fits in to the big plan. I guess that's where trust and faith come in (see the March newsletter for that topic). And I don't know about you, but I am not great with uncomfortable changes. Oooh, I even shuddered a little just typing the word "change"...as I am a true creature of habit, grounded to the core! I like to establish roots and stay there. Where it's familiar and comfortable. But I know that to move forward and grow and co-create a spectacular tomorrow, change must occur.
This became very evident recently when my brother announced that he needed a change in his life. A drastic change. He was working 6 days a week, 12 hours a day at a job that he used to love. He rarely saw his wife and daughter. And his stress levels were off the charts. While I struggle with saying "goodbye" to my brother and his family as they pack up and head for Maine to start their new life, I know that this is a beautiful new adventure for them. And we will find our new normal as we begin searching for blocks of time to go visit. I will miss them being close by, but I am starting to think we may see more of them this way....as their lives in DC were so busy (ours too), that we rarely got a chance to spend time while they were here! So while my initial reaction was "Oh no, I'm going to miss them terribly", I now see how this is a good thing...a necessary change...for all of us.
Just thinking about the shifts and changes that take place in nature, relationships, career, friendships, where we live.....can be stressful! But I know that these changes are necessary in order for us to get to the next chapter. The next place for us to learn and to grow. Spirit often reminds us that when we resist change, life can get pretty uncomfortable....or we feel stuck. It may feel like you're banging your head against the wall. That's often a sign that it's time to make a change. Yet we so often resist.
Nature doesn't resist. It knows that a rain storm is necessary for life and all of the abundant beauty of Spring and the harvest of Summer. Maybe the trees do get angry at the storm....who's to say? But they sure seem to take it in stride. And of course, the storms blow over, the sun shines again, and growth happens.
Maybe we could all learn a little something from nature about change. Maybe try to be more like the trees. Or the birds. Or the rivers. Or my dog. I don't know. What I do know is that I will continue to strive to embrace all change, good and bad, knowing that my growth depends on it, that sometimes change must take place for us to begin new, exciting chapters in our lives. And when I feel stressed, I will remind myself that all change comes with ease when I stop resisting and allow things to flow.
And when that doesn't work, I will ask my Spirit team to help me through it all ....because I know how I can get :)

Want to learn how to connect with Spirit? I'll be teaching Meditation with Intention...to Connect with Spirit! three times this month! At Light Works, I'll be teaching this class on April 18th and April 28. (I'll also be teaching it at the Golden Lighthouse in Herndon on April 29th.) Spend some time learning how to receive loving guidance from the other side. In this class, you'll learn my method of connecting with the angels, spirit guides, and loved ones...and, yes, anyone can do it :)
