It's been a crazy journey this past term. I would love to thank each and every Oyfan out there for an amazing year, and thank you to all of my fans who have supported me. Advocacy
Hello OYFAmily!
Thanks for coming out to the Bake Sale and Green Dot Training! 50% of the proceeds of the Bake Sale will go to the Visayan Forum Foundation to end human trafficking in the Philippines!!
Tomorrow night at 5 pm in Monroe 122, the Nelson Lecture series has invited us to sit in on a discussion hosted by Dr. Rossanna Ditangco to discuss the current state of HIV infection in the Philippines. This is a very prevalent issue in the Philippines and would be a great learning opportunity!
Thank you all for such an amazing year! From Halo Haloween, Kamayan, Karaoke Night, Green Dot and Safe Space Training, we’ve had so much fun working with you guys learning about Filipino culture and finding out what OYFANs are passionate about and want to advocate for! Never stop learning and as always remember to take care of yourselves and to take care of each other. <3

We cannot thank you enough for supporting us at our events this year. It’s your MemBoyz and it’s finally time for us to sign out. We’d like to say thank you for all the support you have given us throughout our term and we want to thank the members for making all our hard work worthwhile. We want to recap with you for all of our fondest MEMories: sweating and yelling during the Activities Fair, hyping up the First General Meeting, eating at IHOP all together, surprising and trolling all the littles with REVEAL, going all out for Family Week, trusting no one during Assassins, being thankful for you and the food during Potluck, sharing the holiday spirit during Secret Santa, exploring new frontiers with Spring Family Week, but most of all, we reMEMber all the faces and smiles (old and new) that inspired us to run for this position.
To our EXTRAORDINARY class of babies, it was a pleasure meeting you all. We hope that this organization gave you something, anything, or everything so that you know that there’s an OYFAmily that’s got your back. We hope that you pursue your passions and have as much fun as you can in this short amount of time called college (we like to believe that this position allowed us to do just that), and remember that you can always talk to us about anything.
Even though our term is up, we know Mem will be in good hands with Mikey and Dana. Don’t forget, we’ll always be there for the members, and we hope that we made this organization as fun and fresh as we said we would. We love you!

Hey OYFAmilia,
Thanks to everyone who helped out with OYFA Bake Sale! The 50% that was dispersed to D7 will go towards travel expenses for FIND CONFERENCE 2017!!!! The date for Conference has finally been announced to be on MAY 6TH 2017!!!! Conference will be held in the Metropolitan New York area, so stay in tune for what school will host this woke event.
With our term coming to an end, we would like to thank you guys for coming with us on our D7 adventures this year. We hope you enjoyed all of the fun times we had at Olympics, getting baked, or going to culture shows. As we are leaving this position, we are on a quest for our successors. We are looking forward to seeing who we can pass the torch of adventuring and networking to, so if you have a desire to explore outside of OYFA@UVA, hit us up.
Even if we aren’t your D7 Reps anymore, we will always be around to bake, play cards, travel, chill, or whatever. We’re just a message away.

Now for the sentimental stuff. In our last WIO, we would like to thank everyone who has come out to any game to play, cheer, or support. We’ve had an amazing time seeing all you have fun at all the events, so thanks for bringing the hype every time.
We leave the Sports Role in good hands as Brandon Ph and Sarah Lei take over, and know they’ll kill it as the next Sports Chairs. We lova ya faces, and hope to see all y’all at the rest of the events.

Hello OYFriends,
First off, we would like to thank you guys for coming to our social events this past year. It has truly been an honor serving as your cochairs for the 2016-2017 school year. However, we must pass the torch, and our successors for the upcoming school year are Sophia Xiao and Jessica Phan!
With new social, we are collaborating our last social event. We’ll give you a hint. It is after Barrio. That’s right. It is the Barrio After Party! It will be at Zip Chicken from 10pm to 2am. Be on the lookout for more details, and if you are a second or third year, please consider donating to the Barrio After Party funds to new social @phantasticjess on venmo.

- Colors of Islam
The Muslim Students Association is looking for students to represent different countries for an informal, interactive diversity dialogue. The event is comprised of booths that showcase food and clothing from around the world and provides an opportunity to talk to students about how Islam has impacted their cultural identity.
You do not need to be active in the Muslim Students Association to participate in this low-commitment event. Contact Sabreena Abedin at sa7cx@virginia.edu to learn more or get involved.
- Participate in political science research at UVA!
This semester, Professor Todd Sechser's Politics Experimental Lab is conducting research on the media, political views, decision-making, and other political issues. We are looking for interested students to participate in our experiments as part of this exciting research. Participants typically earn $20-30/hour for each study, and you may receive extra credit in selected Politics courses as well.
