Easter Series #33

Lesson 2001: God is Not a Monster

God is not a monster tossing people into hell. He sacrificed His son to save people. The difference between Christianity & all other religions is that God seeks us.

Jesus came to save people; this implies that people are lost. Luke 19:10; Rom.3:23, 6:23

The Bible is clear: in order to go to heaven, a person must believe that Christ died to pay for their sins & that He was resurrected. 1 Cor. 15:1-8; John 14:6; Acts 4:12

Your penalty for sin has been paid in full, unless you reject Christ’s payment. Only 1 sin condemns someone to hell: refusing to believe. John 3:18; 2 Thes.2:10

Belief is a choice, a conscious decision. Unbelief = unwillingness. John 5:40 God does not send anyone to hell until they condemn themselves by rejecting Christ.

People are lost because they reject the revelation of God. 1 Thes.1:10, 5:9; John 3:36

God revealed Himself in creation and the human conscience in all people.

All people can know enough about God to seek further light, if they choose and are capable.

All of creation points to the Creator.

God’s fingerprints: Psa.19:1-4; John 3:18-20 Since God did this, all people are “without excuse”. Rom.1:18-20
