'You can't really be strong until you see a funny side to things.'
Ken Kesey
Hi Comedy Crowders,

To get noticed you need to have good content and present it in the right way. Many people skip over that second part, or just don't know how to do it. But in the age of internet it's more important than ever.

This week's collection of comedy opportunities and insights includes the secrets Netflix adopts to get eyes on their shows, and how you can do the same. Plus we explain alternative ways you can get paid writing comedy, and hear from former winners of one of the latest opportunities. Lets get into it.
Opportunities
As ever you can see a full list of comedy opportunities on our Opportunities Hub, the most comprehensive, detailed and lovingly curated database of comedy writing and performing opps on the web.

(If you are thinking of entering, have a read of the comedy tips for newcomers article below by recent winners of BAFTA Rocliffe)
And don't forget, if you're looking for some independent opinions before submitting a script check out our new Feedback Hub, where Comedy Crowd Members review each others' scripts.
Chort writing competition
Chorts are 2 minute videos of original comedy characters, shared with industry producers and commissioners and screened at festivals.

If you want to get your ideas in front of the right people but don't want to perform yourself, you can enter our members Chort writing competition.
We'll share the winning scripts with actors to see them performed and go live on the Chorts! page.

All entries will be personally read and receive feedback from team Comedy Crowd. That's a big commitment! But one we believe is vital (and we know how annoying it is to not hear back after entering a competiiton)

The winning entries will be selected by comedy writer and actress Kay Stonham of Harry Enfield, Robin and Wendy's Wet Weekends and many more.

Deadline for entries is next Friday April 7th. So if you want the chance to get involved, now's the time.
