Some say it's been too long between drinks; and it is. But it's getting difficult to secure Happy Laps that slot in nicely with the busy MX5CQ calendar. So grab this with both hands. Happy Days are here again.

Happy Laps are a great opportunity to take your MX-5 for a cruise around historic Lakeside Park race track, at your own pace. Speeds are limited to 110kph, and it's a fantastic way to enjoy some track time without any competitive pressure. If you've never done it, you're in for a treat. If you have, bring a friend to share the ride. It's a hoot.

This event is exclusively for road registered MX5s. Each attending member may bring their partner, or one non-member guest, as passenger, or driving their own MX-5. Entries are limited to just 40 cars. These events are always popular, so registrations will be accepted IN ORDER OF PAYMENT. In other words, register and pay early, to reserve your spot.

The entry fee is just $35 per member and $35 per guest. For this you get a hot breakfast (cereal, bacon, eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, chipolata sausages, toast etc.) and the Happy Laps session. You may  bring one child under twelve for free. Kids aged 4-7 must use an approved restraint, booster seat or booster cushion. I do need to know if kids are going on track, and an authorised person will need to sign an indemnity for them.

It's an early start, but it's all over by 9am, and then the rest of day is yours. There are off-street drags at Lakeside straight after our Happy Laps, so that might be worth a look. See you there.
