Making Disciples of Jesus who
Think, Act & Live Like Him!
From Pastor Kelly...

In just a few weeks we will celebrate Easter! This is always a wonderful time of worship and celebration; however, the reality of Easter should motivate us each day of our lives! Everyday is a resurrection day, because everyday Jesus is alive! So, let's live each day as a new day for Jesus - celebrating who He is and what He has done for each of us!

As we move closer to Easter I wanted to ask for your help in spreading the word about our Easter services! On Easter Sunday, April 16 we will offer 2 worship services - 9am and 11:15am (Sunday School will be at 10:10am). We are expecting God to do a great work on Easter Sunday! Are you?

Over the last few weeks we have been praying for our lost friends, family members, and neighbors. Below you will find our April prayer prompts. This month I have provided you with some specific ways in which you can continue praying for your neighbors. I also want to encourage you to take a step of faith and invite them to one of our Easter services at Temple. This Sunday, April 2, we will be providing you with special invite cards, which you can use to invite others for Easter. Here's what I would suggest - invite them to the particular service of which you plan to attend. This will make your guests feel more comfortable. Tell them you will meet them outside or in the front lobby, then escort them to wherever you are sitting. If they need childcare services, show them where our KidCheck stations are located and someone will help them from there. On Easter Sunday I will be kicking off our series, "This Is My Story" with a sermon titled - "A Story of Salvation." This will be a very evangelistic sermon and you'll hear a testimony from one of our own church members. Will you join me in praying for those who will be present on Easter Sunday and that they will respond to the gospel as it's presented?

Let me also ask for your help in promoting our Easter activities. On Sunday evening, April 9 at 6pm our worship ministry will be presenting a "Night of Worship!" This is going to be a wonderful evening and I am so excited that our kids choir will be joining our adult choir for a few songs. I promise you'll want to make it a priority to be here for this night. Also, be sure to check out the information in this newsletter about our "Temple Color Run Eggstravagana" on Saturday, April 15th. This is a new outreach event that we are incorporating into our eggstravagana. We hope you and your family will plan to participate, but also invite others to come as well. We'll need some workers for this event, so please contact Pastor Trent if you can help serve!

EASTER PROMOTIONAL VIDEO
During April we ask that you continue praying for the names we have shared and presented before the Lord on Sunday mornings.
Here are 3 specific things you can pray for...

1.) Pray for opportunities to love your neighbors and for opportunities to have gospel conversations (Col. 4:3).

2.) Pray for the Holy Spirit to draw our lost neighbors
to Himself (John 6:44).

3.) Pray for open and receptive hearts to the gospel message (Acts 16:14).

WHAT IS SECRET CHURCH?

When we think of "church" in America, we think of going to meet at a building, singing, praying, and hearing a message from a pastor or teacher. But in many places around the world, "church" meets in a home, an apartment, and sometimes even in secret. Many times there are just a few believers who know and follow Christ. These small groups of Christ-followers often meet for many hours in study, prayer, and fellowship. Sometimes they face great difficulties to meet together. In some places it may even be dangerous to gather as a church to worship, pray, and study the Word. So when they come together, they want to make the most of their time together.

Secret Church is our version of "house church" where we meet periodically for an intense time of Bible study—lasting 6+ hours—including a time of prayer for our brothers and sisters across the globe who are facing persecution and for those who still have not heard the gospel. This is not for the uncommitted or faint at heart. But if you desire to know God more deeply through His Word and know His church more fully around the world, then please join us for Secret Church.

Our prayer is that God will use this focused time of study and prayer to enrich our knowledge of His Word. We pray that we also would gain understanding of the state of His church and our brothers and sisters around the world who face many difficulties—and even persecution—as they follow Christ.

The objective of Secret Church is not just to come and learn for one night, but also to take what we’ve learned and pass it along to others. We also want to recognize the great need to pray and come alongside our brothers and sisters who live in places around the world where there is little to no gospel witness or where the gospel is met with resistance. We want to use what we’ve learned during this gathering to make disciples of Christ—both locally and globally.

COST: $10 per person
*There will be no childcare for this event.

Reminders of new life and rebirth appear each spring throughout nature. For Christians, the most important celebration of new life is Jesus’ resurrection from the dead on Easter. Although teens, students may still associate the holiday with bunnies, baskets, and candy, so it’s important to share with them the real reason we rejoice: Jesus’ empty tomb.

We can help our teens get prepared for Easter by looking at a chronological view of the events surrounding Jesus' last days on earth. This will help our teens prepare their hearts and minds to celebrate Christ's resurrection.

Day 1: Focus on the sacrifice Jesus made
Day 2: Express how Jesus' relationship-healing work on the cross makes us feel
Day 3: Consider how our new life in Christ is different than our old life
Day 4: Reflect on what Jesus' sacrifice says about how valuable we are to God
Day 5: Reflect on the Crucifixion account and formulate praise to God
Day 6: Contemplate how Jesus offers hope when things seem hopeless
Day 7: Consider how Jesus' complete control over all things gives us confidence
Day 8: Express thanks for the possibility of new life in Christ
Day 9: Evaluate what changes need to be made to be more on mission with God
Day 10: Thank God that he has called us to be messengers of His story

Easter Facebook Promotion Made Easy!

Want to help promote our Easter services on Facebook, but the only thing you really know how to do is click “Like” on the original post? Well don’t fear, follow the easy steps below and thousands of people will be reached within seconds!

Understanding the Basics

Likes – Likes are a quick one-click way of saying ‘I agree with what you’re saying’, ‘I like this kind of post’, ‘I don’t have time to comment but I enjoyed seeing this post on my News Feed’

Comment – Comments involve a little more commitment and represents your own view of the post. You may say something like ‘Couldn’t agree more!’ or ‘Can’t wait to attend!’

Share – Shares are a much more forceful action, enabling you to push a specific post out to your group of friends and followers in a manner which says ‘You must read this’, ‘I totally agree with what this post is saying’ or ‘I am attending this event, you should too!’.

In the example below, you will learn how to do all of the above which helps us gain an incredible amount of exposure or ‘views’ for a specific post and for driving traffic to our church Facebook page. These steps can be applied to any posts on Facebook.

TCA will be closed on Friday, April 14 for Good Friday

The week of April 10-14 is recognized nationally as the “Week of the Young Child”! We at  TCA have planned  several activities that for that week, some of those include a visit from the Fayetteville Police Department with their K9 dogs, and a visit from Smile Starters. We will end the week on that Thursday with a family picnic and an egg hunt.

This month our focus will be on teaching our children the Easter story. We want our children to have fun and enjoy the Easter bunny and egg hunts but we put a strong focus on celebrating the death and resurrection of our savior. Take time at home to teach your children why Easter is so important to Christians and how Jesus paid the ultimate price. A fun hands on project to do with your kids, that teaches them the Easter story is making Easter cookies also called Resurrection cookies, this can be found at www.crosswalk.com then search Easter cookies.

TCA is open from  7am-6pm and we care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. If you are interested in enrolling your child or would like to speak to someone about our program please contact Shari or Shannon at 910-321-3160.
