Our thoughts are primed by the environment we live in. We aren't completely controlled by our environment, but our environment does contribute to how we think and interpret situations. We can choose to live in an environment that primes our thoughts to make us great. Our fitness journey is no different. Surrounding yourself with people who have similar goals of achievement will help you keep progressing toward your goals. Another thing to remember is that what you say and how you act are priming others' thoughts around you. If you choose to stay positive and motivated it will not only help you stay on track, it will help others stay on track. And, ultimately it will increase the overall positivity of your environment.

I was active in high school and played multiple sports, but was always on the heavy side. I went on to play football at the University of Wyoming for a season, but had to leave after sustaining some injuries. After college, I continued a loosing battle with substance abuse that had started when I was about 14. I gained a ton of weight and ended up at 275lbs. At the end of 2012 I decided I was done living that way, and went 100% sober, dedicated myself to getting into great shape, and haven’t looked back since. I lost nearly 80 lbs and developed a passion for health and fitness that I wanted to share with the world. I love working with folks that want to make serious lifestyle changes. I am also passionate about working with kids, because I believe that if kids can learn healthy habits at a young age they’ll have a huge leg up on the rest of the world when they hit adulthood. I also firmly believe it is never too late to get started down a path of health and fitness!

In the summer of 2014, I became an ISSA certified personal trainer. My main focus is to create plans that will change client lifestyles and overall health. After experiencing a healthy lifestyle change myself, loosing over 60 lbs, I became determined to help others. I am motivated to support my clients on a personal level, and energize them to kick-start their journey to wellness. I measure my success as a trainer by the success of my clients. My specialties include overall weight loss, building strength and endurance and diet assistance. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and practicing jiu-jitsu. I have been told that my personality is relaxed and friendly. I look forward to working with a variety of clients! I am a student Casper College and have a flexible schedule, which can accommodate many different days and times.

Spring Cleaning

With this amazing new weather most of us have gotten in the spirit of “Spring Cleaning”.  It always feels good to get some fresh air through the house and throw out any clutter.  We like to clean the air in our Yoga Studio as well!  You may have noticed the Sage and Palo Santo Wood we burn in the Yoga Studio. Although few things come close to a house full of fresh air... sage and santo wood can be used to clear the air!  If you are wondering why we burn them before or after class, here’s a little history of each.

Palo Santo is a type of bark from a tree belonging to the citrus family. Once burnt it gives off sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon. Traditionally it is used to help calm the nervous system, promoting a speedy recovery from illnesses. It is also widely used to keep off “bad” energies and widely used to keep away mosquitoes in Ecuador and Peru. Its uplifting scent is thought to raise your vibration in preparation for meditation. We burn sage to clean the air as well. This is a 2,000 year old practice dating back to Indigenous Americans. They would use sage to absorb any anger, conflict or illness. The smoke from dried sage actually changes the ionic composition of the air, and can have a direct effect on reducing our stress response,.helping us relax and enjoy yoga!
