We have been paying registration cost, for those that have signed up, in good faith that they will pay. But we have a people back out after that payment has been submitted. Depending on the cancellation policy of the event, we may not get that money back, and then the Council is out money.

Please pay attention to registration deadlines. If your payment is not received by the registration deadline you will not be signed up to go!
4-H Event– Parent/Chaperone Policy

As per the State 4-H Guidelines for chaperones we are to have one (1) chaperone for every eight (8) participants.  In order to conserve our County Council funds we are going to be strictly following this guideline.

You are welcome to attend events with your child, but you will be  responsible for the cost, if you are not needed as a chaperone. If we only have 8 participants or less going, the designated chaperone will be the Agent. Any parents after this will be required to pay their way.

We will have a first come first serve basis on signing up as a chaperone.

Calling all 4-H Alumni!!!
Raise Your Hand & Pay It Forward
March 1 - June 30, 2017

This spring, New Mexico 4-H is asking alumni to raise their hands!
It’s easy:

1. Raise Your Hand: Go to http://www.4-H.org/RaiseYourHand to show your pride as a 4-H alumni.
2. Compete for Your State: Raising your hand is a vote towards a $20,000, $10,000 or $5,000 award for the states with the most alumni hands raised.
3. Pay it Forward: Tweet, post and share your #4HGrown experience or support and tag fellow alumni asking them to raise their hands for their state at http://www.4-H.org/RaiseYourHand
Help kids learn responsibility, compassion, respect and the value of hard work by supporting 4-H. Together we can grow the next generation of true leaders.

2017 NM 4-H Hall of Fame
The New Mexico 4-H Hall of Fame was established in conjunction with 4-H's National Centennial celebration in 2002. It continued annually through 2013 and now is conducted in the odd numbered years. In 2017, we will be honoring those members selected for their impact on the lives of 4-H members through their roles as 4-H club or project leaders, fair superintendents, Advisory Board members, 4-H Foundation trustees, and former staff and faculty members of the Cooperative Extension Service. Nominations forms and supporting documentations listed below are due to the State 4-H Office by June 1st, 2017. The nomination form can be found on the website under the Hall of Fame link in the left hand column of the home page.
Information should include:
Nominee’s significant contribution to 4-H. Be specific.
  • Impact of the contribution.
  • Role played (4-H member, club leader, project leader, fair superintendent, Extension faculty/staff, advisory boards, Foundation trustee, other volunteer, etc.).
  •  Length of commitment.
  •  Impact on 4-H, either upon individuals or the entire program.

Other factors as appropriate:
  •  Impact on the community
  •  Major career accomplishments
  •  In what ways has the nominee already been recognized, such as other awards, etc.
Each Hall of Fame award recipient will receive a plaque from the New Mexico 4-H program and will be invited to be honored guests at the awards ceremony during the annual State 4-H Conference in July. The names of this year’s winners will be added to the plaque honoring the inductees displayed in the lobby of Gerald Thomas Hall at New Mexico State University.
