Hi Moms and Dads

Please read these Monday Newsletters each week as IMPORTANT and all relevant information about the school, your children's classroom activities and the functions at the school will be written in it.
This newsletter is a very important form of communication.

We allow the children to bring a few extras to school during the holidays as a treat. Please chat to Ingrid or take a look at the programme. It will be up on Monday next week.
Please note!!!!
Those children who are permanent half or full day children do not pay any extra for the holidays, just their usual monthly school fee.
Those children who are not permanent Stay and Play children and only stay for the school morning are casuals and will be charged a holiday casual fee.

IQ THEME : Easter
Dear Parents we are now in the last week of the first term. Time has gone by so quickly!!!!
How quick has this term gone, seems like it had been just yesterday when we started the year.
Firstly I would like to thank each and every parent for supporting our classroom as well as the school for the term so far.
The children have settled in really nicely and I’m happy to be part of the seahorse class too.
We have had a marvellous time together and our classroom has grown so close to one another.
Secondly I would like to wish all of you a blessed Easter holiday with friends and family.
This week we will mainly discuss Easter and have some fun activities before the term ends on Friday 31 March 2017.
We will also be having an Easter Egg hunt on Friday.
School re opens on the 18th April 2017
Thank you.

EQ : Consolidation and how have you learned to make friends
General:  My family and Easter
Maths:  Revision of shapes and number. Left and right
Language: Letter N n nut, nurse etc
Thank you for attending the parent interviews. I appreciate you organising your day to meet with me to discuss your child's report. I find the time we spend together talking about your child most helpful and at times it gives me a better understanding of your child.
This week we are discussing our family. We will compare the similarities and differences in the various families in our class. I will link it to maths by making a graph for the amount of people in each family. It’s a good theme to link to EQ as we'll discuss the roles different family members have and how they as young children can help at home.  Thank you for sending family and baby photos to school.
Over the next two weeks we'll be revising all the maths concepts we have learned this term. The children confuse left and right so please try and make them aware of it at home. Remember to make them aware of number in the environment and let them look for numbers and prices when you are shopping, this will keep them busy.
Language Letter ‘N’ ‘n’: The children who are bringing objects for the table are really showing an interest in the Letterland programme and in learning the letter.  They enjoy comparing the different object brought and we match objects that are the same. We then count how many objects are the same and link the concept of more and less to it. I urge all of you to start helping your child to do their "homework" and bring things for the table.
On Fridays we do movement lessons in the back garden. I set out 5 "stations"/ activities for the children to work at and they rotate from one activity to another.  I am so proud of how quickly the class has learned to work independently in groups.  There is a leader in charge and there are times that they clash and argue but I let them try and solve the problem and only get involved when they are unable to resolve it or ask for help.
Please join our closed Facebook page because I try and post a few photos every week.
It’s hard to believe that the term is almost over and our last fun thing for this term is the Easter raffle. School closes on Friday 31 March and re-opens on Tuesday 18 April. There will be after care during the holidays from 7 am to 6 pm.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter.

I cannot believe the end of term is upon us.  We have so enjoyed our first term of fun with your beautiful children and have grown to love them all so much.  We have made many memories and have had many laughs.
This week we will be chatting about "Easter" and continue to discuss "Calming down/helping someone to calm down" when feeling angry.  Continue to chat to your child when feeling angry and encourage them to try different ideas to calm down.  We have discussed breathing deeply, closing our eyes and counting to 10, closing our eyes and thinking of something that makes us happy.
Over the holidays continue to encourage your children to tell stories.  Play number games with them involving the numbers we have learned this term (1-5).  You can play memory games using the numbers, matching games, Uno, games using a dice.  Playing games improves concentration, listening skills, taking turns and sharing which are all vital skills to have.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING IN ONE HARDBOILED EGG IN ITS SHELL BY TUESDAY 28 MARCH FOR OUR EGG DYEING ACTIVITIY.  PLEASE PUT A REMINDER ON YOUR PHONE FOR MONDAY NIGHT.  THE SHELL NEEDS TO BE UNBROKEN OTHERWISE IT IS DIFFICULT FOR THE CHILDREN TO DRAW ON THE EGG.  DO NOT BRING EXTRA EGGS FOR OTHERS, OTHERWISE I GET STUCK WITH TOO MANY EGGS.  THANK YOU 111111
Please remember to bring in Easter Eggs for Rainbow Educare in Masi and for our Easter Hampers to be raffled this week.
Dates to Diarise:
27 to 31 March - Easter Raffle
31 March - Last Day of term (Easter Dress up)
21 April - Starfish Cake sale
Wishing you all a wonderful, relaxing, fun-filled and safe holiday with your children and a Blessed Easter.

I am so proud of how quickly they have settled in and managed to form good and interesting relationships with their classmates and teachers. They quickly adapted to change and love their new family. Getting to know, understanding each other and knowing where they belong at school in such a short space of time is amazing. We have learnt a lot and have seen great changes in them in all developmental areas. Thanks to parents for all the support and for bringing items and books to promote our learning.
A special thanks also to Nicole and Debbie(our class representatives) for helping with school programmes,  conveying messages and thanks to all parents for promoting good relationships working well with them and teachers.
This week we will be learning about feelings, calming down and helping others to calm down. Please try and discipline your child calmly and with a loving heart. Set boundaries and be consistent.

FACEBOOK
We love sharing pictures from the school day. Teachers only put photos up on Facebook once a week. Any parent who does not want their child’s photos to appear on Facebook should let their teacher know. www.facebook.com/fhpps.

And on that note...

To be a good father and mother requires that the parents defer many of their own needs and desires in favour of the needs of their children. As a consequence of this sacrifice, conscientious parents develop a nobility of character and learn to put into practice the selfless truths taught by the Saviour Himself. James E. Faust
