Less Than 100 Days

March was another busy month which began with services at Seneca Community Church, and Maple Avenue Bible Church, both very near to our home in southern Michigan.  We finished with a conference with Flint Baptist Temple in Burton, MI.  Each place we visited was a great encouragement to us and we were very blessed to be able to visit and share our ministry.

The big news for us now is that we finally have a departure date.  We purchased our tickets in mid-March and will be officially leaving for Bolivia on July 10th, less than 100 days from now!  This is both exciting and terrifying for us all at the same time, as we long to be there, yet are overwhelmed by all that needs to be done before we can leave.  Over the next months, we'll be working on obtaining our visas, sorting through all of our belongings to determine what we can take and what must be left, purchasing necessary items to take with us, etc.  Additionally, we have several trips planned with family, and are co-leading a domestic missions team in May.  It will be a busy couple of months.

We are so blessed by all of the churches and individuals who are praying for us and sacrificially supporting our ministry.  What we do would not be possible without each and every one of you.  Thank you for your commitment to us, to the gospel, and to the Bolivian people!

We are trying to raise approximately another $8,000 for set-up when we go to Bolivia.  To join our support team or give a one-time gift toward our costs, please click here.

Just Trust Me

Surprises are really hard for me (Andi).  I'm not going to sugar coat it...I HATE surprises.  I like to plan, I like to know what's going on and what to expect.  Throughout this journey, God has been teaching me what it means to trust Him.  It sounds really easy to do, very biblical, but at a realistic level of day-to-day trusting and relinquishing my control of things, it is very hard.  As we are just  three months from leaving, there are a lot of things that feel overwhelming to me. Often I feel that if I don't plan these out, something unexpected is going to happen, resulting in a surprise, which I hate.  God has to continue to remind me that He's got this and the only thing He's really asking of me is to trust Him. Even the surprises are planned by Him and are usually put there to make me grow and to keep me flexible and dependent on Him.   Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.  And that's what I want.  I WANT His purposes, more than my plans, to stand.  Lord, help me to trust you!

April 2017
Praises

We have purchased tickets and have our departure date set!

God is continuing to build our support and prayer teams, as well as raise up needed funds for departure.

Prayer Requests

For our visa process, that we would be able to obtain them within the next month.

For wisdom as we consider what to take, what to leave, things to purchase, etc.

For good, quality investment in family and close friends as we realize
our time here is quickly drawing to a close.

For God's protection on our marriage and our kids as the devil's attacks and discouragement will be on the increase in upcoming days.
Kids Corner
Q: What advice would you give to somebody thinking about answering the call to missions?

Jaelin (12): The life of a missionary is both exciting and hard, but in the end it's all worth it.

Caden (10): There's going to be difficult times and you have to learn to be flexible.

Gavin (9): I would encourage them to do it because God does miracles.
