HANT Crowdfunder Campaign: April 2017

As of today (6 April 2017) we have reached the sum of £350 which is 35% of our target of £1000 and fantastic news – 20 days to go!

Our target of £1000 would cover HANT’s running costs for a year which would keep the campaign alive and in the public eye.

Many thanks to all our supporters who have donated so far but we need more to reach our target by 26 April 2017.

If 130 people gave £5 or 65 people gave £10 etc. we’d reach our target.

Although some HANT Committee Members have been reluctant about asking directly for donations we have also found that when we ask friends and acquaintances indirectly they respond positively to a direct personal approach.

As long as there is no arm twisting or hard selling we’re confident people will respond.

Please like and share and tweet and ask your friends to do the same.

We’ll keep you posted on progress and the final outcome and we’re also planning to give a HANT Car Sticker to all who donate as a very small thanks.

HANT Demo at Scrabster Harbour

HANT’s Chairperson was a One Man Demonstrator at a very wet Scrabster harbour at 3 pm on Wednesday 15 March 2017.

As one observer noted that ironically it may have attracted more publicity as a "one man demo"!

HANT has written to the Scrabster Harbour Trust asking why the nuclear shipments from the harbour were not reported on in the recent annual report and whether these shipments conflict with attracting cruise liners and fishing boats to the harbour – a reply is awaited.

HANT Skype Committee Meeting : 23 March 2017

This was the first full HANT Committee meeting using Skype and thanks to Committee member Sue Tarr all went well.

Lots of ideas for future awareness raising events in 2017 were discussed including street stalls, public meetings, stall at fresher’s weeks and lobbying candidates for the forthcoming Council elections on 4 May 2017. HANT will continue to receive briefings from questions raised at the Dounreay Stakeholder Group which is attended by Tor Justad as a Community Member.

Last time HANT lobbied all the Highland candidates and elicited some support so we’ll be doing the same again.
