Welcome to Art With Heart!

I hope you are all enjoying the longer days and warmer weather. After a long winter it is so nice to be able to get outside and see all of the flowers blooming. Their bright colors and happy faces always inspire me to paint and I have to admit that the tulips are probably my favorites.

Loving Colorado!

All three of our kids were born in Colorado and grew up enjoying all that it has to offer. Our son, Scott, moved back there after attending college in Vermont and is working as a financial advisor for Edward Jones in Ft. Collins. He just opened his own office
but finds time to enjoy skiing, fishing, golfing, rafting and hiking. We are SO proud of him!

The flowers are starting to bloom, trees are leafing out and the weather is warmer - spring is here. You can view all of my Springtime and Easter Instant Download Watercolor Printables here!

Art With Heart
Friend of the Week

I was so excited to find out that I was the featured Friend of the Week on the Create With Joy blog! They had kind words to say about my watercolors and although they did mistakenly say I was from New Jersey instead of Tennessee it is always fun to be recognized by other bloggers.

From My Studio!

I love exploring non-traditional ways to use watercolor and painting on Masa paper is one of them. The rice paper can be crumpled up and soaked in water before gluing it down to create a batik like texture for your painting.

Creative Living!
Sidewalk Chalk Art

As artists we spend a lot of time creating alone in the studio and it is always good to get out and see other artists at work. I spent a fun Saturday at a Sidewalk Chalk Art show in downtown Knoxville, TN and it was amazing to see the wonderful art that was created with chalk on concrete. The amount of detail, shading and color was amazing and VERY inspiring!
