Hello <<First Name>>,

Spring has arrived, and with it, a blossoming of creativity, inspiration and new ways of doing things here at Excavive.

Throughout the cold winter months, I was busy with my
always amazing clients, some steady speaking gigs and a bit of foundational business work. I am focusing on strengthening and streamlining my business practices so I can serve you better.

It reminds me of a common yoga phrase, "Root to Rise," which means that your foundation must be solid from the ground up. Imagine growing roots from the soles of your feet.
Or, as I say to my clients, "It's like flying a kite. You must firmly hold the kite string steady on the ground so that it can soar high in the sky."

So, first up in growing a stronger foundation is that I decided to no longer coach individual clients on Mondays in order to work on, not just in, the business. I am also using the beginning of the week to focus on creating new products/presentations and have more time for my self care because after all, it is part of my business success plan.

After four weeks of not coaching on Mondays, I feel more relaxed, focused, inspired and productive. And, I am still able to accommodate everyone (unless I am traveling and then I will break my own rules.) And the results? So far, I have created an auto-pay plan that many people are loving. I am offering coaching through Skype or Zoom, and I am finalizing an on-line scheduling system that will be out next month.

I also have created several new speaking topics focusing on leadership skills and success, both personal and professional. My newly revised effective communications topic is coming up this month for Prospanica Louisville, so feel free to join us on April 26. And, on the social media front, I have created an Excavive YouTube channel, with the first four videos ready to be released next week. In these snippets, I will be talking about why I created Excavive, conducting inspiring interviews and discussing the subjects that are important to you.

For 2017, I am redefining my magic formula for attaining and maintaining success— for my work, my relationships, myself and the people I serve. I have been realigning who I am with the the work I do, the passions I pursue and the people I spend time with. One of my passionate pursuits is taking flower design classes in Cincinnati with one of my best friends, Valerie. You can see my creations on my Facebook page.

So, how are you creating your success? I hope that you will consider what it means to fly your own kite and to authentically create your own plan for success. I have included some tips below for achieving authentic success, And if I can be of service in moving you toward your dreams and desires, I would love to hear from you soon.

All my best,

Excavive Successes

In 2016, I worked closely with the HR department at Baptist Health Floyd (formerly Floyd Memorial Hospital) to develop and present a series of programs for the hospital’s initiative to support Leadership competencies through their LEAD University. I kicked off the program with a half-day “Leading with Strength” program for 130 leaders, followed by four additional trainings on coaching skills, compassion at work, sharing feedback and engaging teams. Last month, I repeated the coaching skills program. Here is what their HR director had to say…

“Jennifer led a half-day training session for our entire leadership team of over 130 leaders entitled Leading with Strength.  This enlightening and interactive experience helped our top leaders to recognize and leverage their own strengths, as well as understand how they can utilize them as part of a larger whole.  Jennifer is a delightful speaker. She truly understands how to engage her audience and creates an atmosphere that inspires and motivates all.”

WRITINGHow do you define success?

We all strive for success. It's what we chase after, prepare for, choose, and desire. It is often defined by one's accomplishments, favorable endeavors that come to fruition, or the attainments of wealth, position or honors.

Are you successful, and if so, in what ways? Are you truly happy with who you are and what you have achieved?

The key to authentic success starts with creating your own personal definition of achievement that aligns who you are with what you do. Most people need a combination of personal and professional victories while maintaining life balance, personal connections, passionate pursuits, taking advantage of service opportunities, and staying true to one's life purpose.

So, what does success mean to you? How do you define it, claim and honor it? To learn more, read my "5 Strategies for Achieving Authentic Success" article here.
