Ho-san-nah!

And so following the passover meal, Jesus headed towards Jerusalem. The crowds were waiting, waving palm branches and cheering the wandering radical into the capital city. And yet all was not quite right. A bit like a scene from Mr Bean, he pitched up on a donkey. It was all a bit awkward but nobody said anything as they didn't want to seem rude.

Wednesdays in Lent

Alongside the encouragement for everyone to take special time out every Wednesday to STOP & PRAY, throughout lent we have our special Levenshulme Churches Together Lent gatherings. These are taking place as follows:

7.30pm refreshments - 8pm start - 9pm finish

5th April - St Mark's Church (Mount Road)
12th April - St Mary's (Elbow Street) - includes passover meal and starts at 7.15pm - LET LIZ KNOW IF YOU WANT TO GO AS WE HAVE TO BOOK IN ADVANCE

Our Sabbath Year Continues ...

Although we've finished our teaching series on the sabbath, we are planning for our year of sabbath to continue after Easter with a new pattern for our Sunday services as follows:

First Sunday - Food
Second Sunday - Worship & Preaching
Third Sunday - Break-out groups
Fourth Sunday - Topic-based discussion

There will be a short time of prayer, readings and singing before and after our different activities but the emphasis is on simplicity and fellowship in the presence of our patient and generous God.

If you have any concerns about these plans it's not too late to change them so do say or ask any questions.

WHOLE CHURCH REUNION
10.30am Sunday 7th May

In 7 years I don't think there have ever been 2 Sundays when we've had the same congregation at Inspire Church - praise the Lord! And we believe that we should be a fellowship where people are free to come and go as they please ad NEVER to judge people on the basis of church attendance. Long may that continue.

BUT

For one Sunday only, we are trying to get everybody together. EVERYBODY!
So whether you've been to Inspire Church ONCE - or whether you've been 100 times - why not put the 7th May in your diaries and keep it free for a VERY special service - 10.30 until 12.

(Then, if you want to stay longer (and there's no pressure) we'll have a shared lunch and then we'll be joined by the Women Asylum Seekers Together choir and our friends from Hest Bank URC)

Our series on Christian basics is for anybody to join - but especially those who feel they know very little about Christian faith and perhaps don't feel comfortable stepping into a church. Do tell a friend.

Music Group - every second Wednesday in the month.
A chance to worship, jam and plan for Sunday services.

URC Big Day Out at Warwick Castle - 20 May - we're taking over Warwick Castle for a special family fun-day for people from all over the UK - again, we're planning to go as a group - let Liz know if you want to go. SIGN-UP DEADLINE - SUNDAY 26 MARCH.

Daytrip to Buxton - 11 June - we're planning another fun Sunday in Buxton like last year (see picture above) - all welcome.

Greenbelt 2017 - 25-28 August it's been a few years since we went as a group but this year we're planning another Inspire Church encampment - book soon to get cheaper prices.
