Longtime KHRA Advocate Recognized
John L. 'Jack' VandeVate has gone above and beyond with his service to the Kingsport Housing and Redevelopment Authority. Jack has been a commissioner on the KHRA Board for 27 years. Through his work, he has overseen community efforts and enhanced KHRA communities through the John L. & Ann B. VandeVate Education Scholarship.

Jack also created the Greater Kingsport Alliance for Development, and served as KHRA Board Chairman for a portion of the HOPE VI Project which completely redeveloped the Riverview community.

Kingsport Library's Children's Area Update

Kingsport Library's Children's Area Update
With 170,000 visits per year, the Kingsport Public Library is a downtown destination. The remodeling of various areas of the library over the next few years will attract even more people to the library – and to downtown Kingsport.

Construction of this phase is expected to be complete by the end of May.
