Seven ways to sneak more steps into your work day.
Whether you’re chained to your work station, trapped in a meeting, or stuck behind the wheel, it’s often hard to get up and move during the work day.

Here’s the good news: Just a few minutes of stretching or walking every hour or so can help offset the risks of prolonged sitting.

Here are some easy ways to get started:
Walking appointmentChange your appointment from conference room to sidewalk—make it a walking meeting. Can’t get outside? Make it a stand-up meeting.

Set remindersSet reminders to take stretching breaks when working on long projects.

When Walk the long waynature calls, take the stairs to the restroom—on the top floor.

Walk and brown bag itAvoid the drive-thru at lunch; walk inside to order. Better yet, brown-bag and go for a walk in the park.
