Global Week 2017 was even bigger and better this year thanks to you guys! The amount of energy, talent and enthusiasm on display was unprecedented and made the event an unforgettable experience for everyone.

The marquee hosted a huge variety of acts, from traditional Portuguese song and dance, to modern street dancing and a Bollywood performance. The impromptu singing sessions and Romanian dancing were most certainly highlights!

The stalls were bursting with wonderful traditional food, cultural costumes, games and displays of the beautiful architecture, nature and scenery from around the globe.

Thank you to everyone who participated and performed. It was a fantastic event!

Here are a few of the pictures that were taken throughout the week:

Thank you to all the student volunteers for their efforts, passion and for making Global Week 2017 unforgettable.

Thank you also to the African Society, Law Society, Tamil Society, Graphic Design Society, Bollywood Society, CRIC, The Chaplaincy, Oyster Worldwide, HOST, BUNAC, Study Abroad and Active Anglia who all participated throughout the week.

Important information about your BRP:

Keep your BRP safe
  1. Your BRP is your visa – it is proof of your right to stay, study and work in the UK.
  2. Make copies of your BRP (front and back) and keep those copies and your card in a safe place.
  3. You do not need to carry your BRP in your purse/wallet - if you lose it you will need to apply and pay for a new one. Only carry it when you need to show it (e.g. when registering as a student, opening a bank account, registering with the police or registering with a doctor).
  4. Remember - you must carry your BRP when travelling in and out of the UK.
  5. Make a note of your visa expiry date. If you need to apply for a new visa you will need to do this before your current visa expires.
Have you lost or had your BRP stolen?
  1. If you have lost your BRP then we recommend you spend 2 weeks looking for it.
  2. Most BRP’s that are reported lost are found within this 2 week period.
  3. If you still cannot find your BRP please come to the International Office: Cambridge - Helmore 122.
  4. We will help you report the loss of the BRP to the UKVI online.
  5. If your BRP was stolen, you will need to go to the police office to report it stolen and to request a crime reference number.
  6. The cost of a new BRP is £56.
  7. It usually takes up to 3 months for a replacement to arrive.
  8. You cannot travel outside of the UK without your BRP. Therefore please do not make any travel arrangements until the replacement card has been received.
  9. We will help you apply for a new BRP at the International office once you have brought in the required documents that we will advise you of.
  10. If you require the replacement sooner there is a premium service option that costs £556 which we can discuss with you in person.
