THE WEEKLY TRINITY TRUMPET:
April 5th - April 12th
|
|
This week we celebrate the
Lenten Journey to the Cross
with Lent Wednesday Service tonight at 7pm and Sunday Service at 9am on April 9th!
With all the tools we use in life, one of the more important tools has to be the tool that keeps things together. Life can be a bit crazy and as an adult, I’ve often wondered how I’ll keep things together. Your lives are also frantic, which is why we come together at Trinity to find wholeness and hope. The last sermon this Lent is on the “Biscuit Joiner”. Join us this Wednesday night to see this tool in action. A biscuit joiner holds two boards together and makes a stronger bond. What an analogy for our faith community. God in Christ holds us together and makes us a strong community. Don’t let life tear you apart at the seams! Instead make a strong bond with Christ and with those who call Trinity their place of worship.
The AGAPE Meal at 6pm
The AGAPE meal will be this Wednesday, April 5th, at 6pm. Please bring any finger foods you would like to share, as well as appetizers and wine. Join us in this wonderful meal of sharing with and serving your fellow believers. Guests and visitors are more than welcome! Any questions? Feel free to contact Kris Oolman.
PALM SUNDAY SERVICE at 9am
Palm Sunday brings up old memories of palms and parades. As a kid, who doesn’t love a good parade. Parades have bands, floats, candy, and they bring the community together. However, on Sunday our parade is a bit different. Our parade doesn’t have a band, a float, or even candy. (Sorry, but please still come to worship!!) Our parade has a donkey and the one we call Jesus. Community parades come and go and we often forget the joy they gave us as years pass. The parade we recognize this Sunday has changed our history, and 2000 years later this parade still touches our lives. Join us this Sunday and allow God to parade into your life.

BIBLE PASSAGE FOR THIS WEEK
Matthew 21:1-11
BIBLE PASSAGE
When they had come near Jerusalem and had reached Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, just say this, ‘The Lord needs them.’ And he will send them immediately.” This took place to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet, saying, Tell the daughter of Zion, Look, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey. The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them; they brought the donkey and the colt, and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven! When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, “Who is this?” The crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.”
