Crow Wood Golf Club

Crow Wood finds itself in a unique position at present, where financial stability is a reality, with steady progress being made on the course condition.

Like all members we strive to improve the club, but find it difficult to break the status quo financially with growing competition for membership, a higher proportion of transient members, alternative ways that people can spend their leisure time and general drift on how people use the club outwith the course itself.

Therefore, after a period of consideration, the Committee have recommended that it seeks options for a more focussed full time employee who will seek out, lead and capitalise on opportunities related to Crow Wood, to take the club to the next level of its development.

Whilst the course is, and always remains the key asset of the club, it is felt that there is a huge untapped potential within the club regarding the clubhouse, and its facilities, to bring resource into the club, and therefore its continued investment, security and progress.

An advert has been posted on the Scottish Golf Website where any applications received, will be evaluated along with any other proposals or alternative solutions.

Any member who believes they have the appropriate skills, drive and experience should register their interest in writing, addressed to the Club Captain, Hugh O'Donnell.

Juniors

Please don't forget that all Junior members are invited to the Annual Meeting on Sunday April 23rd, 1:30. It is hoped that we can get as many along as possible, including parents or carers, to try and get some momentum behind the younger Crow Wood members. All details will also be posted on the Juniors noticeboard, as well as the club Facebook page.

Additionally, all Juniors (and their non-member friends - at no cost), are invited along on the next couple of Monday nights (10th and 17th) at 6pm, to join some of the Junior Committee in a 12 hole (light permitting) competition. The format will be decided on the night depending on numbers, but can all interested meet at 5:45pm at the Pro-shop.

And finally, anyone wishing to represent the Crow Wood Junior Team, should put their name on the Junior Noticeboard. You must be under 18 on January 1st 2017. Crow Wood is entered in the Lanarkshire Golf Association League, with matches scheduled from May through July this year.

Course Forum- Date for the diary

As agreed at the AGM, a greens forum will take place before the season starts, to allow members to put their points forward in a constructive manner.

This has been set for Wednesday 19th April at 6:30. We would request that any questions are submitted in advance to allow the Greens staff and Committee time to consider them, and therefore to be as prepared as possible to discuss. (email to greens@crowwoodgolfclub.co.uk
