Brazos Bend 50 FINAL EMAIL

Alright runners lets make sure you do these 2 things BEFORE You read the rest of the email..

#1 Read the first email we sent out --> http://us8.campaign-archive2.com/?u=37b1b24be30a6a22317ea235c&id=5f3b87c31d

#2 Go read the entire website for your race so you know exactly all the info as well. http://www.trailracingovertexas.com/brazos-bend-50/

*NEW INFO*

Course Conditions-  The course is 100% dry. So dry at times it was hard to get the little pin flags into the ground. Of course it could change but sunny weather is the outlook for the weekend. So it might get a bit warm so make sure to bring sunscreen, hats, ice neck towels etc..

Course Markings-- Red is 50miler, 50k is blue, 25k is green and 10k is yellow. We use these at all turns and wrong way runners to show you were not to do. We go over ALL of this at the friday 4-5pm meeting at the park.

Contacting the RDs- After tonight we are systematically in motion to put your event on. Which means I dont answer emails in 2 seconds, i probably wont respond to facebook messages etc.. Best way is to email me and expect a response when I can slow down and answer it.  99.9% of all questions are answered on the website or in the email.

If you want to change your distance DO IT NOW via ultrasignup. Go to registration history and hit edit you can go up or down.. If you are not going to show up to race than you can delete your registration if you dont want a DNS after the race starts. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT to drop down until race morning if you know you are. As always you can register the morning of we still have some room but it is fleeting.

The TROT Store, No Fine Print Store and Austin Trail Running Company Stores will be open all day friday 3-7pm and all day saturday. Pam will have the jackets/vests for order for Brazos bend 50 and the new Patagonia TROT jackets that are on pre-order until the last day in april. Tracie Akerhielm will be here with Altra Running and if you buy a pair of shoes at the event from Austin Trail Running Company use code TROT and save 10% on them.

Pacers-  You can only have one pacer on the course with you at a time. The last 100 yards of a race is different you are more than welcome to finish with kids, family etc.. Pacers have to sign a waiver and get a bib before they run. They can do that at the merch table or find rachel up there. Pacers do not have to pay but we also expect you to take your own food/hydration. If your pacer gets crazy and eats all our gummy bears they can but a shirt or something..

Below is from the 1st email except for the end.. which is new..

Here are your Top 5 Must Do-s Before You Read Below

1. You MUST have something to carry water in when you start the race. We dont care if its a water bottle, handheld, water belt, solo cup but we DO NOT have water cups on the course. If you try and drink out of our coolers we will DQ you and I will ban you from our races.

2. Show up to the park 1 HOUR before your race starts or you will probably not make it to the starts. It takes about 15 min to get in the park ( $7 per person BRING CASH), 10-15 to get to Nature center to park and about 5-10 to walk in. That means 50 minutes of your time will be getting to the start line already.. So we always recommend you pickup your packet thursday in town, friday if at the park or show up AT LEAST 1 hour early. If you are late to your race that is perfectly fine with us but we will not adjust your time.

3. Drop Bags are Due Friday Night or Saturday Am BY 5:30am... I love you guys but when you dont drop them off we cant just run them out after 5:30am.. So prepare in advance, drop them off friday or show up early Saturday to get them before we send our crews out.

4. We make the results LIVE as soon as you finish. This eliminates you needing to come up and ask us for your time and place. We will have someone doing bibs at the sawmill aid stations and at the finish. So it will be perfect for your crew, family, friends and YOU post race to see it all. So save this link, share it and use it.. http://ultrasignup.com/live/live.htm?dtid=22123

5. Camping/Lodging- You may put up a canopy tent for you team, club group or whatever you want starting Friday night for the race. You may NOT camp at the start finish line. If you need a place to camp you can donate $10 to the park or they may charge you.. But the dining hall I have rented and it you can pop up a tent outside of it.. Follow this link and find the DINING HALL which is just North East of the Start across from the showers. http://tpwd.texas.gov/publications/pwdpubs/media/park_maps/pwd_mp_p4504_110l.pdf

6. Bonus-- Change In Distance/Cancelling etc. We do NOT offer refunds, deferrals, transfers etc within 30 days of a race ... You can change your OWN distance though by going to edit registration through ultrasignup and then hitting edit.. We ask you do this BEFORE Midnight before the race as we finalize our timing sheets. If you do this the morning of know that your time will NOT be added until post race because of the late change.

If you want to tent camp you can do that outside the dining hall which I have rented. The park will more than likely charge anyone who is camping $10 for the fri/sat night so expect that.
