"The Sweetest Taboo!"

The word “taboo” typically generates a negative connotation – something prohibited or restricted by social norms or customs. As a result, this makes some of us fearful of exploring life or walking on the wild side. But as a writer, I get excited by taboos because I see them as quiet storms or guilty pleasures I can explore through my writing.

This allows me to create scenarios that tease and stretch my characters to do things I sometimes wouldn’t dare to do. It’s the thrill of seeing whether they will spiral out of control, get caught or escape so they can continue to be bad. I just can’t let them slip away.

So yes, words give me the sweetest taboo and that’s why I’m in love with them! And I hope they keep on loving and bringing out the best in me too!
