EASTER EVENTS: Make plans to celebrate with us!
- Palm Sunday service on April 9 at 10:30 am: The children have some special singing planned for the worship service. So, parents, bring your children to the back of the sanctuary just before the worship service, so they can receive their palm branches. They will begin the service by walking in and waving the palms, then they'll stay up front and sing their song to begin the worship service.
- Maundy Thursday service on April 13 at 7 pm in our sanctuary: Read more here from our senior pastor about Maundy Thursday's history and purpose. We’ll take communion as families during this special worship service. Childcare will be provided for children ages 3 and under.
- Good Friday service on April 14 at 7 pm in our sanctuary: Our sister church Metro North will join us for this special somber worship service, as we meditate on Christ’s last seven sayings from the cross. Childcare will be provided for children ages 3 and under.
- Easter morning on April 16: Since our Easter Sunday service is usually packed, please park in the parking garage at 69 Wentworth St. to save our parking lots for visitors (and use your bulletin to get out for free). If you'd like to bring some Easter lilies to display in our sanctuary, please feel free to contribute. After the service, please take the Easter lilies to encourage a neighbor or shut-in. Adults, youth, and children will enjoy nibbles and coffee in the courtyard beginning at 9:15 am. At 9:45 am parents can walk their children upstairs to sign them in for a special Easter game and craft. Then join us for our celebratory Easter worship service at 10:30 am in our sanctuary. We’ll provide our nurseries for children 3 and under as usual for this service; however, we will not offer Children’s Worship during the sermon. And our newly re-formed choir will lead us with some special music!
WOMEN'S PRAYER WATCH: The Lord has delivered us so that we may take an active role in seeing His Kingdom grow here in Charleston. If your heart desires to cry out to the Lord for Redeemer--its leaders, ministries, missionaries, marriages, young adults at school and home, our neighborhood, city, nation, and the church universal, come join us the second Saturday of every month. The ladies will meet Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 am in the sanctuary.
CHOIR PRACTICE: After an encouraging re-formation meeting and good first practice, the choir will gather again this Sunday, April 9 at 6 pm in the sanctuary for continued practice. If God has gifted you with the ability to sing and the desire to be part of a group that proclaims the glory of the Lord in the worship service, then come to practice to see how you can be part of this vibrant ministry. Childcare is provided during practice!
LOWCOUNTRY YOUTH GROUP: Metro North Church in Goose Creek is hosting the April gathering of the Lowcountry Youth Group on Sunday, April 9 from 5-7 pm. Youth in grades 6-12 are invited for an awesome night of fellowship with games, worship, dinner, and time together in the Word of God. RSVP to Mary Chapman, so we can provide an accurate count of who's coming from Redeemer. Check here for pictures from past events!
FACING DARKNESS: There's an encore showing of the movie Facing Darkness on Monday, April 10. Details here.
MEN'S LUNCHEON: Join the men of Redeemer and other downtown churches for the First Wednesday Luncheon at St. Philip’s Parish Hall on Wednesday, April 12 at noon. Come enjoy good food with a requested donation of $10, plus hear a guest speaker. April's guest speaker is Raymond Nelson, a Charleston local who grew up at Mother Emanuel AME. He's now at work inspiring and empowering a group of young boys through his ministry called Boys with a Purpose.
SECURITY TEAM: Our security team needs two additional volunteers to serve on Sunday mornings. Team members usually serve about once every two months. Contact David Ivey at 803-634-7968 if you're interested in helping.
PRAYER REQUESTS: Our Session longs to pray for our congregation, and many of you offer your requests on Sundays through the attendance pads. We've also developed a web form for you to submit prayer requests you have during the week. If you'd like prayer, please use this form.
