Relief mission to help Syrian children
In December of 2016, we organized our first relief mission to the refugee camps along Syria's border with Lebanon. It was a cold winter and the fighting in Aleppo was at its peak. We set out to raise a modest amount to be able to buy and deliver critical supplies for the children most affected by the Syrian war.
While the mission was straightforward in theory, it turned out to be far more complicated, with Shivani being detained for several hours in Beirut, and eventually denied entry without just cause. She was re-routed to Cairo, where luckily, she was able to get the mission back on track.
We were relieved to have exceeded our goals by reaching over 500 children! In addition to this, on New Year’s Day, Shivani personally delivered about 75 lbs of hand-wrapped gifts to the youngest children of the Awladi Orphanages in Cairo.

And with each passing year, we get just a little bit closer to achieving this, our ultimate goal.
