The Subiaco Street Party is back this weekend – bigger and better for 2017!
Kicking off at 3pm tomorrow afternoon and continuing into the evening, the town centre is set to come alive with music, food and entertainment aplenty, as well as street bars, rides, live art installations and family-friendly attractions to celebrate Subiaco’s rich and unique culture.

Did you miss out on one of our Community Development Grants? Don’t worry, you can now apply for one of our rolling grants to fuel your big idea – any time of the year. Grants of up to $1000 are available to community members and organisations to assist with small projects and events in the city.
Or if you’re a young person aged between twelve and twenty-five, you can apply for a Youth Achievement Grant to help fund your participation in a community project, event or competition in Subiaco, around the country or even overseas.

Subiaco Fallen Soldiers' Memorial
November 1923
At the end of World War I, a committee to raise funds for a memorial honouring local fallen soldiers was formed. Despite initial enthusiasm, a struggling post-war economy saw fundraising efforts slow. Construction on the E.H. Hamilton-designed memorial began in 1922 and continued until 1923, when the committee ran out of funds. With an incomplete memorial, Council agreed to cover the remainder of the cost. In November 1923, the Subiaco Fallen Soldiers' Memorial was officially opened to the public. Mayor Keene proclaimed in his annual report that ‘the Municipality has the finest Memorial to our Fallen Soldiers in the State...’
