VIRTUE OF THE MONTH: JUSTICE
"BEING FAIR AND GIVING EACH HIS DUE"
Justice is the moral virtue that consists in the constant and firm will to give due to God and to neighbor. This virtue prompts us to pay debts owed to others, to keep promises and commitments, to obey just laws by those who have authority to make them, to play games fairly, and to respect the property of others. Justice directs us to act fairly and honestly toward others.

MUSIC NOTES
Assignment Earth DVD
We were very fortunate to have Edwin Oyardo, a parent from our school, recording our school musical. The DVD will be available soon for $20.00 and net proceeds will support the school. An order form was sent home this week and another is attached at the end of the newsletter.
Music Sharing Day - April 10th (Gr.4) and 12th.
For Grades 1 through 6, Music class on Wednesday April 12th (Monday, April 10th for Grade 4) will be a “Music Sharing Day.” During this class, students studying music or dance outside of school are invited to share their talents with the rest of the class so that we can encourage them in their efforts. Students not taking classes outside of school may also choose to participate by preparing a special dance or song to present to their classmates, by bringing an interesting musical instrument, or a favourite selection of music on CD to share with the class. For listening, no rock or pop music please. (But rock or pop is fine for dancing or singing.) A selection of children’s music, classical music, or cultural music would be wonderful.
Singing for First Communion and Confirmation: Our Intermediate Choir will be singing for the First Communion Mass on Sunday, April 30th at 1:00 pm and for our Grade 7 Confirmation on Saturday, May 6th at 5:00 pm. This is a very special day for our school and parish community, and we’re hoping that many singers will be able to attend! Permission forms will be sent home at a later date, but in the meantime, please mark your calendars!

OTHER WAYS GO GIVE...FUNDRAISING:
Did you know that non-cash items can also be donated to help raise funds for the We Do This Together Campaign? During this year of Caring For Our Common Home, OLA has partnered with the following companies to help recycle and raise funds for our school:
Biggar Bottle Recycling Depot Account
Consider bringing your recyclable bottles and cans to the Biggar Bottle Depot and donating the proceeds to OLA. Simply let the attendant know the proceeds are for our school. It’s as easy as that! Address: Biggar Bottle Depot, 2577 Kingsway Avenue, Port Coquitlam.
Library Books
Do you have lightly used children’s books your family has outgrown? Did you know that our OLA school library accepts children’s book donations? It’s a great way to get new life from your recyclables. Simply bring in your lightly used children’s books and drop them off at the school library. No board books please.
Woori Metal Inc - Scrap Metal Account
Spring Cleaning? Old bikes and freezers are only a few of the metal items the scrap metal company takes back. Consider donating your scrap metal proceeds to our school. Its as easy as dropping off your items and asking for the proceeds to go towards our school account. Address: Woori Metal Inc, #2-1961 McLean Ave, Port Coquitlam.
Boston Pizza - School Earnback Program
Here’s a simple and delicious way school families can help with school fundraising. New this year - OLA is enrolled with the Boston Pizza’s Earnback program. There is a box in the school office that we collect Boston Pizza receipts from families who have dined at Boston Pizza. Families can dine at ANY Boston Pizza location in Canada.
