April 22nd is Earth Day. It's always so important to take care of the planet and respect the environment. This is why TOIC does everything we can to have as little impact on the environment as possible. We serve only compostable materials. We don't waste water, we use natural non-toxic cleaning supplies, and we compost and recycle everything too. We source only organic ingredients and as much local ingredients that we can. 

We are constantly witnessing examples of how climate change is speeding up, which means we have a responsibility to speed up our efforts to combat climate change. The damage that has been done cannot be undone, so we as humans must change our ways to make the difference. Under this political climate we are facing the removal of essential programs that are in place to protect the environment. Funding and programs for the Environmental Protection Agency are getting drastically slashed. Whether the government realizes the importance to take care of the environment or not, we live with the reality.

Earth Day is a great reminder and a way for people to get involved, expand our minds, and open our hearts to be the change we want to see. So if we all can make small changes to make a difference in our own lives, that adds up to a big difference in all our lives.

Lemon Blueberry is so visually inviting and is a burst of enjoyment and pleasure. A favorite for many, this one always sells fast, so taste it when you have the chance. It was inspired by my two favorite pies. Blueberry and Lemon Meringue! Nom nom nom.

Tiana Landworth with be showcasing her art at TOIC Temescal this month with the artist's reception being April 7th from 6pm-10pm. The works will be on display through May 3rd. Tiana describes this exhibit as: "This series represents twelve realms among the many enigmatic and unseen worlds that exist in the vastness of the universe. Each piece is a world within itself, yet every geometric version has an organic counterpart. Each pattern expresses various elements and frames of living, within its own set of rules and limitations. 
Being open to this theory affirms the idea that life can exist and grow in an infinite number of ways. This idea can affect the perspective of our experience on Earth, and reminds us to think not only in a literal sense, but in a metaphorical one as well."
