Children who play outside more likely to protect nature as adults

Dr. Catherine Broom recently published research findings of a study that involved early childhood experiences and the impact those experiences had on young adults later in life. The study found that children who had positive experiences in nature were more likely to protect it later in life. 



How Canada Came to Be 
Dr. Macintyre Latta and co-applicants, Dr. Karen Ragoonaden and Dr. Rita Irwin were awarded funding from the Partnership Development Grant, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to examine a large-scale arts experience with École Glenmore School and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra. A number of graduate students are involved in this enterprise: Kelly Hanson, Loïc Fauteax-Goulet and Jennifer Furlong.

 Third Annual Pink Shirt Day breakfast was a success

Dr. John Tyler Binfet was recently asked to speak at the annual Pink Shirt Day breakfast in support ofanti-bullying day. Dr. Binfet talked about embracing kindness instead of anti-bullying.




 
UBC Professor says teacher education programs should teach for public accountability
