Thursday, April 20th - Saturday, April 22nd

Pittsburgh Earth Day returns with bigger, better, and greener festivities for its third year!

Kickoff: Ecolution Fashion Show

Stellar high-end, eco-friendly couture kicks off our weekend of green celebration on Thursday, April 20th with the Ecolution Fashion Show in the Main Ballroom of the Fairmont Pittsburgh from 7PM-10PM.

In addition to the fashion show, guests are invited to enjoy music by DJ Soy Sos, dance performances by STAYCEE PEARL dance project, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres as well as the opportunity to peruse and purchase pieces from the Renee Piatt Collection, Bill Snyder's astrophotography collection, and doTERRA Essential Oils. Ms. Thea Trix will also make a special appearance as Mother Nature and will welcome guests at the entrance.

VIP attendees will enjoy all of the above in addition to a cocktail hour from 6PM-7PM featuring a complimentary Pittsburgh Earth Day cocktail, dubbed "The Zesty Mule," made with Boyd & Blair Vodka and Blume Honey Water, followed by choice reserved seating.

Curated by Richard Parsakian, over ten designers are challenged to integrate sustainable, recyclable, and organic materials into stellar environmentally-savvy ensembles that will characterize the constellations for this year's "Planets - Preserving the Wonders of the Universe" theme. Featured designers include: Karen Page & Thomas Higgs, Faith-n-Khaos, Bradford Mumpower, Terry Boyd, Michael Anthony, David Pohl, Carol Luckner, Brandon Darreff, Lessa Kassler, Beth Shari, Keith Kelly, Lana Neumeyer, RubyDawn Designs, Katy DeMENT, Kat Belskey, Alana Yoffee, Becki Liu, and Domitille Angoulvant. This year also welcomes Brian Siewiorek from WYEP as the guest M.C.

Designers have the chance to win one of four award stipends provided by Larrimor’s. The most creative eco-fashions and winners will be determined by a panel of five judges: Tereneh Mosley, founder of Idia’Dega: Elegant Ethical Apparel and Global Eco-Design Collaboration; Mary Lou Arscott, Studio Professor and Associate Head of the School of Architecture at CMU;  Natalie Bencivenga, Post-Gazette Seen Column Editor; Janis Burley Wilson, VP of Strategic Partnerships / Director of JazzLive at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust; and Jose Diaz, Milton Fine Curator of Art at The Andy Warhol Museum. Hair and make-up by Izzazu Salon, Spa and Serata will also be featured.

“This must-see fashion show is an eclectic mix of Pittsburgh artists working together to continue the awareness and practice of sustainability. Izzazu is pleased to be a part of this important annual event,” says Emilio Cornacchione, one of the principals of Izzazu Salon, Spa and Serata.
