e bulletin #62   April,  2017

South Coast Family Law Pathways Network is proud to present a one day conference for people working with children and families in a healthcare setting, following the June long weekend in Narooma.

This conference builds upon our successful training day in Nowra in 2016, attended by a broad range of health practitioners, especially those working with children within high conflict families.

The content has been developed over two years in consultation with regional health providers, including the Health Justice Partnership and with the ongoing support of Southern NSW Health.

This project recognises the key role of healthcare providers in the family law system and seeks to fill the legal information gap around issues like parental medical consent disputes, court orders, ADVO's, Family Law vs Care and Protection Law etc. The program has been contextualised specifically for the health sector.

FLPN network members in the far south are encouraged to attend.

Dr Cathy Kezelman will be keynote speaker. You may like to read Dr Kezelman's paper: 'Trauma and the law- applying trauma informed practice to legal and judicial contexts'.
