If I Can, You Can!
The national health department building expert said we'd need to lay vinyl sheet flooring with heat welded seams, if the Fugwa Wesleyan Health Centre wanted to ever upgrade to rural hospital status.
Great. In my seven years of formal training as an Australian carpenter and then builder, no one ever showed me how to do that. Praise the Lord for the internet, especially YouTube and the flooring manufacturer's website.
I eventually got a fair idea of how the process would work. Wesleyan Health Services gave us funds to order all the materials. And I showed the building team at Fugwa what little I knew. Together, Andy, Saleh, Kuk, Tagiria and I figured out how to glue down the floor straight and smooth. Andy and I have worked out how to heat weld the seams. As the first stage of renovations and expansions nears completition at Fugwa, we are proud that our work looks good.
But beyond that, we rejoice that God can help us figure out practical things as we go, so that literally thousands of people in the Fugwa region will receive better medical care.
