New Familiarisation Passport for 2017 Season

Thank you to all our partners who, for another year, have supported our Familiarisation Passport. It includes approximately 60 free or discounted places to visit and things to do and is worth over £1,500. It is designed to be used by staff from partner businesses, plus press and trade where applicable, to familiarise themselves with Wiltshire product. This year the VisitWiltshire Familiarisation Passport is available as an online document only. Partners will shortly receive an email from Jenny with details, including access to the downloadable password protected pdf. Contact Jenny if you have any queries.

The Great West Way News

The Great West Way Conference

The Great West Way Conference took place on Thursday 30 March at Grittleton House, Chippenham. It was attended by 172 tourism professionals and Tracey Crouch MP, Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage.

Thank you to all our partners and stakeholders who attended and contributed, to help us develop the future direction of The Great West Way project. We really appreciate your continued support. The Phase 2 business plan has now been submitted to VisitEngland/VisitBritain. We shall keep all partners and stakeholders updated.

VisitEngland Quality Assessment Scheme News

VisitEngland have awarded the AA  contract to run the VisitEngland Quality Assessment Schemes under licence for the next three years (trading as VisitEngland Assessment Services). The VisitEngland Quality Assessment Schemes will remain separate to the AA’s existing assessment schemes. Participants will continue to be able to choose between the VisitEngland and AA accommodation schemes. All current ratings, logos, marques and accolades remain unchanged. Latest Inbound figures for January 2017 

The latest monthly data from the International Passenger Survey show an 11% increase in visits to Britain and 15% up on spend in January 2017. Further details can be found here.

Take Part in VisitBritain's Annual Attractions Survey

The  Annual Visitor Attractions Survey will be used by government and industry to gauge the performance of the attractions industry and the results often generate lots of media interest. Participating attractions will receive their own benchmarking report. Forms need to be completed by 1 May 2017. Please get in touch with VisitEngland via email for further information.
