We'll be joining our friends from Woodlawn & St. Junia UMCs for a service of foot-washing, holy communion, and prayer as we remember the night before Jesus went to the cross.  Nursery will be provided.  Woodlawn UMC is located at 139-54th Street North, Birmingham, 35212.
 

Good Friday, April 14 | 6:30pm

We will host Woodlawn & St. Junia UMCs as we come together for a service of darkness, remembering the night Jesus died. This is a dramatic "Interrupted Eucharist" that retells the events of Holy Week and Jesus' crucifixion using ancient and modern art. While we include parts of the communion liturgy, we will not actually celebrate the Eucharist. Since the story deals with execution, some images contain violent and disturbing content. Nursery will be provided.

Easter Sunrise, April 16 | 7:00am
@ Avondale Park Amphitheater

Just as Mary and the other women discovered and celebrated that Jesus was not in the tomb on that first Easter morning, we’ll come together for this community celebration of Jesus’ resurrection.  Our church is sponsoring this event along with St. Junia UMC, Beloved Community Church, and Christian Service Mission.
