Harvest Season

Our harvest season has officially begun! The cherries are red, ripe and ready to be picked which is why we have opened our washing stations to start collecting and processing this season's harvest.

What to expect this season

Last year was the first time that we produced natural and honey processed coffee. Due to the success and high demand for these coffees, we will be producing more of both together with our fully-washed coffee this year. Our samples should be ready near the end of July/beginning of August once our specialty lots have been finalized and are ready to process, but we will keep you updated on this closer to the time.

Visitors

Earlier this month the US Ambassador together with USAID Burundi and the World Food Programme visited Greenco for a coffee cupping. It was an honour to have them here and we look forward to hosting more visitors this season.

We are proud to announce that our official website is now live, which you can visit here. You can also now follow us on multiple social media platforms to see what happens behind the scenes at Greenco.

Managing Director's Words

First of all, I would like to thank Luis for the work he has accomplished so far. He started Greenco from scratch in an environment that was far from being easy. I am honoured to build on his work and legacy. Most importantly, I would like to thank you for the partnerships and the relationships you have built with our project. The trust you have placed in us is amazing and has a direct impact on the lives of thousands of coffee farmers in Burundi.

We had an incredibly busy start to the year as per usual, planning and preparing for the season. It is hard to believe that our harvest season is now well underway. We are on track to continue our commitment to producing exceptional quality coffee. I sincerely hope the coffee we produce this year will satisfy your palate. That being said, we are always keen to hear your feedback, good or bad! It is the only way we can continue improving how we do things and our service to you.

We are also eager to take part in the Cup of Excellence competition during July this year.

I am looking forward to this year and to meeting some of you who are going to pay us a visit down here!

Sincerely
