Dear Zion Families,

We are now in the middle of Holy Week as well as Spring Break. You may be looking for things to do with your children that will help them understand the depth of God's love for us in the story of Easter.

Here are few more things that are happening at Zion that may be of interest to you and your family:

Maundy Thursday

This is the day we retell the story of the Last Supper where Jesus commanded his disciples to love one another and he washed their feet.
April 13th
Footwashing and Holy Eucharist at 7:30pm
Reading of the Passion by the Youth at 8:30pm in the Parish Hall

Good Friday

This is the day we hear the story of  Jesus's death on the cross.
April 14th
Stations of the Cross for Children at 1pm
We will look at art work depicting Jesus' crucifixion and death, sing and say prayers.
Good Friday Liturgy
Veneration of the cross and Holy Eucharist at 7:30pm

The Great Vigil of Easter

We will begin outside with the lighting of the Paschal candle, then proceed inside to the darkened Parish Hall where we will hear Bible stories and see images chosen and created by the youth. We will pray by candlelight and then go into the church for the first celebration of Easter.
April 15 at 6pm

Easter Sunday

We celebrate Jesus' victory of death and the new life he gives each of us.

April 16

Easter Egg Hunt

Following the 10:30am Easter worship service, all children are invited to hunt for eggs in the churchyard. BYOB (Bring Your Own Basket!).

Empty Tomb Rolls

This is a great way to talk about the Easter story with your kids while making a yummy treat.
