Welcome to Motorcycling News

Published online quarterly by The Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC), Motorcycling News contains news and views from our member organizations and associations. If you are planning events in your province or in your community, please let us know so we can share in our newsletter, on our blog, through our social channels and on our website. Share your voice, your photos and your videos. Together we can create a better riding experience for all and make Canada one of the safest countries in the world to ride a motorcycle.

It's the start of a new motorcycle season!

At MCC we are proud to officially launch Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

This is our national initiative to promote motorcycle safety among all road and trail users across Canada.

We have many exciting new initiatives to support our safety month campaign: a new website, motorcycle safety pledge and great resources to share.

We need your help to get the message out that motorcycle safety is everyone’s responsibility:

  • Show your commitment to motorcycle safety by taking the Motorcycle Safety Pledge
  • Share your Pledge with friends and family
  • Download our safety month tool kit and share it with your organizations
  • Send us your photos and show us how you’re promoting motorcycle safety in your community

Wishing everyone a safe riding season!

Dave Millier, Chair

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month

Help make Canada one of the safest places in the world to ride a motorcycle. Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month is a national campaign that reminds drivers, riders, and the general public that motorcycles are back on the road and the trails. This year we are emphasizing that motorcycle safety is everyone’s responsibility.

We created some exciting materials to help promote Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, including logo, posters, graphics and a tool kit with safety messages and event planning tips.

Please help spread the importance of motorcycle safety in your community!

TAKE THE MOTORCYCLE SAFETY PLEDGE

We’re encouraging riders, passengers, motorists, and loved ones to take the Motorcycle Safety Pledge. This is a promise to yourself and others to put safety first. Join the many Canadians that support motorcycle safety by taking the #MotorcycleSafetyPledge at motorcycling.ca.

MCC Launches New Website

We have a new website! Visit motorcycling.ca and explore our new look. In addition to being more user friendly, it has a special resource section, event listing, and our latest news. Check it out and let us know what you think. Be sure to add your events, take the Motorcycle Safety Pledge, and learn more about our fantastic leadership team.

MCC Members Working Hard for You
Our board and committee members are amazing volunteers. They dedicate their time and energy to help promote safe motorcycling in their regions. Meet a couple of our members:

Mary Caldwell

Mary was appointed to the Women Riders Council in 2014.

“I find that riding is a great escape from the everyday demands of life. I believe in riding in a safe, responsible manner and love the camaraderie that develops by being a member of a riding group.”

Doug Houghton

Doug is Chair of the Road Riders Council, and has been an MCC director since 2008.

“I’ve been riding motorcycles since the mid 1960’s, when I would either ride a friend’s 80 cc Suzuki or rent a Honda 50 at the beach.  I didn’t own my own motorcycle until age 22, after university graduation in 1969 and moving to Manitoba for a new job.  It was a new, black and chrome 69 BSA Thunderbolt, which I enjoyed riding (when it started) throughout western and northern Manitoba.”
